What size do I need?
Look up or measure your oil filter’s outer diameter. Most online auto parts stores have this listed online. Look for the term “O.D.” under the specifications.
Filters under 4″ outer diameter, use the Oil Udder XL.Filters under 2.75″ outer diameter, use the Oil Udder X.Combo #3 includes 2 Oil Udders (X and XL), 2 MagStands.
Note: The Oil Udder is not designed to extend to the top of the filter. Oil will run down the side of the filter into the Oil Udder.

How did you come up with the idea for this product?
We value proper maintenance and engine longevity… but hate messes and oil is particularly difficult to clean up. On super bowl 2019 we were having a conversation about how much of a pain it is to change your oil filter without making a mess. Kevin began designing prototypes that were produced by 3D printing molds and injecting them with silicone to get working prototypes.
The name “Oil Udder” comes from one of the early prototypes that happened to somewhat resemble the udder of a cow. 26 prototypes later we were happy with the design and the 27th prototype became the production version which is injection molded out of nitrile rubber.
What makes your product special?
The Oil Udder is designed and built to last. We only use materials that hold up to extended exposure to oil. It is made out of thick nitrile rubber, high density polyethylene, and a strong neodymium magnet. It is flexible and squeezes into tight spaces. Aside from helping make oil changes less messy, the Oil Udder also enables users to potentially recycle more oil that would otherwise be wiped up with rags and thrown in the trash.
Every mechanic wishes they had a third hand and it seems like you always have your hands full. We didn’t want the Oil Udder to be another thing you are trying to juggle around under your vehicle. We finally settled on a strong magnet that is pressed into a holder and installed into the Oil Udder. Which means you don’t have to hold it and your hands are free to do other things. Later on we developed a magnetic stand (sold separately) that you can stick under your car so you have a clean place to put the Oil Udder when you are done.

What has been the best part of your experience?
Identifying a problem worth solving and turning it into a manufacturable product is a fun, fulfilling learning experience.
